All Day Song!

What could be more fun than to sing, play, and create at school or in a nursery, all day long! Many think that music is a nice “extra” in the classroom, but actually it can be so much more than that. As its best, music is a systematic and effective pedagogical tool in the daily life of a classroom, promoting not only musical skills, but also cross-curricular learning, social-emotional skills, and creative expression.

LAULAU® ALL DAY SONG! concept provides inspiring ideas and pedagogical tools, joyful music content, as well as versatile approaches for experiential music education, and for integrating music and song into the nursery or school day.

Pedagogical, imaginative and interaction-based children’s music has been the cornerstone of Laulau’s work from the very beginning. Our songs arise from the child’s natural need to sing, play and move, and serve a wide range of pedagogical purposes — from supporting linguistic, social-emotional and motor skills to making the pens dance and create.
In addition to our own music-based methodology, Laulau’s toolbox includes the core elements of early childhood music education: singing, playing instruments, music and movement, rhymes, rhythm and playful improvisation. We approach music in a creative and inspiring way — both as a tool for supporting children’s holistic growth and as a pathway for musical development itself.
Laulau’s founder Minna Lappalainen has written music for children’s albums, educational materials and creative pedagogical methods, as well as for commissioned projects. As a songwriter, Minna’s work combines musical and linguistic richness, pedagogical insight, and themes that speak to the child’s world. Her songs invite imagination and multi-sensory expression — and many of them are easily adaptable to various learning contexts and children’s own creative ideas.
