Vietnam

Our collaboration in Vietnam began at the Educa Fair in 2024, when Nguyen Dao Ngoc Anh and Nguyen Tuan Viet, the owners of FIS Finland Preschool, visited the Laulau stand. Their preschool organisation brings Finnish early childhood education expertise to Vietnam. We quickly discovered that our views on early childhood education, and on the importance of play- and arts-based learning, were very much aligned. The discussions were active, inspiring, and full of shared enthusiasm. Soon after the fair, we began exploring cooperation and the possibility of launching Laulau method training in Vietnam.

Over the past two years, Minna from Laulau has visited Vietnam twice to provide training in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, and Ha Long. During these visits, Laulau has touched hundreds – possibly even more than a thousand – wonderful and highly engaged Vietnamese teachers and early childhood specialists. Laulau has also been featured on national television channels and in local newspapers. In addition to offline training sessions in Vietnam, online training activities have continued throughout this period.

In Hanoi, Laulau has a skilled and dedicated local educational advisor, Nguyen Minh Thuy, who works closely with Minna in building training cooperation with local partners, and in supporting the local teachers in applying the Laulau methods.

Are you based in Vietnam and looking for new, inspiring tools and teaching methods for early childhood education, early years music education, or supporting children’s English language learning? We would love to hear from you! Please do not hesitate to get in touch.

In Vietnam Laulau has an educational team of two. The founder of Laulau, Minna Lappalainen is the lead trainer in Vietnam, providing both online and offline training. Minna is the creator of the Laulau Songdrawing Method, an award-winning music educator and songwriter of children’s music. Minna works actively as a trainer in Finland and internationally. Alongside her creative work, she also works as a university teacher in music education and music didactics at the University of Helsinki. At the heart of Minna’s work is a desire to share the joy of music and to encourage every educator to find their own voice, using singing as a way to create joy, connection, and interaction with children.

Nguyen Minh Thuy is the local educational advisor and co-trainer, based in Hanoi, Vietnam. Minh Thuy has years of experience in early childhood curriculum development and in developing English as a Second Language teaching.
