Songdrawing offers children a natural and illustrative working method for expressing and visualising their feelings, thoughts and observations. Songdrawing also includes the approaches of bodily and multi-sensory expression important to children.

Inkeri Ruokonen, Emerita Professor of Early Childhood Education, University of Turku

About a 4-year-old child with Down Syndrome:
”Earlier, she hadn’t even held a pen in her hand. Now, she’s drawing fine pictures in time with the songs. Her attentiveness and concentration improve during songdrawing. Her signing and use of communication pictures have also been unprompted and her gestures and body language richer. The latest improvement has been the producing of sounds and attempts to construct words when songdrawing.”

The Laulau Songdrawing Method is one of the most inspiring and innovative teaching approaches I have seen over the last decade as an educational consultant. The combination of singing, storytelling, drawing, and movement are making it super engaging for anyone using it. It’s also perfectly adaptable to suit the needs of every learner, no matter their learning level and capacities. If you are looking for a different, more musical, fascinating, and engaging way of teaching, I would definitely consider Laulau, it will change your way of looking at the world of teaching.

Arne Verhaegen, CEO EduFuture, Finland

Songdrawing is the perfect combination of music and drawing. Music is considered the fundamental language for connection, while drawing is seen as a tool and form for children to express themselves. The teacher will easily understand and support the children. Participating in the course, I truly enjoyed it and was very impressed. I believe Laulau Learning is very suitable for application with Vietnamese children. I hope that many more children will have access to this educational method in the future.

Le Thi Thu Huyen, Owner and Director of STEAMeQ Education System, Vietnam

Laulau Songdrawing is an educational method that promotes holistic child development, making its application in early childhood education in Vietnam entirely practical and feasible. The Laulau Songdrawing Method is child-centered, with all teaching content stemming from the child’s needs and interest. Furthermore, Songdrawing is a humane educational approach that not only provides opportunities for all children, but also helps children with special needs to develop fully within their capabilities.

Dinh Thi Thu Hang, Dr. in Education, Lecturer of Early Childhood Education, University of Da Nang, Vietnam

Participating in the 2-day Songdrawing course in Hanoi, I experienced many memorable emotions: lots of laughter, amazement, exhilaration, and even moments of indescribable emotion. It’s a wonderful educational method for unlocking imagination, creativity, developing language skills, social-emotional skills, effectively applying interdisciplinary learning, and even supporting therapy for children with special needs. I greatly admire the dedication and research of Laulau Learning from Finland.

Nguyen Minh Trang, Founder of Excitement Box, Excitement Village, Vietnam

I started training the Laulau Songdrawing Method (Level 1) in September 2022, less than 2 years ago, and so far I am working with around 50 schools just in Bradford, 7 music hubs from around the country, nurseries, childminders, Music therapists and early years hubs to spread the joy of Songdrawing and Laulau. As well as this, I have been on the front cover of one of the biggest music educator magazines in the UK, and presented at a range of different conferences with focuses on SEND, Inclusion, Music and Early education. The feedback from all of these participants has been overwhelming.

Stephanie Warrender, Laulau Learning, United Kingdom

About a kindergarten group of 1–3-year-olds:

The word from the group was that the children have been enthralled. The personnel were surprised by how attentively all the children had been following the drawing. The songs have inspired even the littlest ones to exercise speech. The children have also started to spontaneously suggest songdrawing even outside the organised sessions. The children’s drawing skills have developed radically.

Ann-Mari Kähkönen, Speech Therapist

We piloted Songdrawing in music groups for 4-year-olds as a core activity for a full school year, alongside other musical approaches. In the Songdrawing groups, I observed that children sang more actively than in groups where the method was not used. I was especially pleased with one boy-dominated group where singing had previously been a real challenge—through Songdrawing, they started singing with genuine enthusiasm. Songdrawing also brought a calmer atmosphere and helped the children stay focused for longer periods. Parents have given positive feedback about the peaceful, concentrated mood and about new skills that have emerged through Songdrawing.

Pauliina Sirkiä, Early Childhood Music Teacher

I’ve experienced that the possibilities for using this method are almost endless, when you as an adult have the courage to throw yourself into the moment.

Heidi Carrassi, Occupational Therapist, Daycare worker

Songdrawing is holistic, physical and mindful all at the same time. Exactly what early childhood eduction in the UK is screaming out for.

EYFS Leader, UK

It is great that this activity also allows children who find it difficult to participate in other shared activities and express themselves to take part.

Salla Sutinen, Early Childhood Special Education Teacher

What an experience! It was amazing to see how the children relaxed and fully engaged in the session. Even the most energetic movers seemed to dive into the big paper and let the song and the pen lead the way. I was impressed by the calm working atmosphere and by the deep sense of ease and relaxation that spread through our group. The children truly enjoyed it.

Henna Karvonen, Early Childhood Education Teacher in a Preschool group

With children with autism spectrum, I have, with the aid of Songdrawing, been able to bring out their needs for interaction and contact. Songdrawing has brought joy to my therapy work and to those small but important moments of interaction that you can experience with children.

Liisi Kuoppala, Speech Therapist, Finland

I think that the easiest and most natural way for children and parents to learn AAC communication methods are play, songs and rhymes. I was intrigued by Songdrawing because it combines all the important elements.

Anne Eväkoski, AAC instructor and intrepreteur

After two days of learning with the Songdrawing Method, I found it very interesting and inspiring. Based on the developmental characteristics of children according to their age, I believe this learning method complements the Vietnamese Ministry of Education’s curriculum. I also highly appreciate its applicability to Vietnamese children; in addition to combining interdisciplinary learning across preschool areas, children can naturally become familiar with English through songs.

Dang Cam Tu, Principal of Vinschool Greenbay Kindergarten, Vietnam

There is something indescribably magical about Minna’s songs. The materials include many lovely, small songs that are easy to learn, yet each one is still a unique world of its own. The arrangements and production are high quality, which makes the songs enjoyable for adults as well. We always spend a long time with these songs together with the children, and it’s so easy to create all kinds of activities around them.

Early Childhood Education Teacher

With Laulau’s songs and methods, children have plenty of opportunities to succeed and a positive learning environment is created for every child. There is space for creativity, and everyone can participate at their own level. All of Laulau’s songs, materials, and courses are created with care, professional expertise, and heart. Quality for children.

”Laulau fans” from the Finnish School of Seattle, WA, USA

Songdrawing plays an important role in building and strengthening my teaching group. It is our group’s own shared practice that increases a sense of togetherness and team spirit. During songdrawing, all students in our mixed-age class feel equal and truly connected, regardless of age differences.

Liisa Ylinen, Class Teacher of a Multi-Grade Class

I feel that Songdrawing has provided me with a method that I can use in many ways, regardless of the operational environment. With songdrawing, I have seen in practice how children can be inspired and learn new skills. The children’s parents have also been delighted by these new skills. I warmly recommend the Laulau Songdrawing Method for everyone working with children

Anne Laitinen, Occupational Therapist

Songdrawing is an excellent way to put the core principles of the early childhood education curriculum into practice and to cover all areas of learning. It has been easy to connect different themes and learning content to the activities. All the children in the group have been absolutely delighted with Songdrawing. I can’t remember another moment when this group committed to a shared activity this well.

Anonymous training feedback

As a teacher who is very new to Early Years Learning, having a chance to attend Laulau Learning is extremely inspiring and eye-opening. I believe that any teacher with true passion and love for children would be very glad to be here.

Anonymous training feedback

As an early childhood special education teacher, one of my key responsibilities is to share with child groups proven, effective pedagogical tools. I actively recommend Laulau’s materials and services in every direction, because they form a genuinely holistic methodological toolkit that works brilliantly across different ages and learning areas.

An Early Childhood Special Education Teacher

The training was very inspiring and energising. I gained many practical tools and renewed motivation for my work. I have been going through a difficult period in my personal life and almost didn’t have the strength to attend. But the warm atmosphere made it easy to be there, and it was wonderful to learn through hands-on exercises. In my situation at the time, the training also felt genuinely therapeutic—my worries faded away during the day.
